landing and releasing 18 big brown trout - sensational effort Peter.

Peter Smith came over from Perth for 5 days to try fly fishing for the first time
and found the big brown trout at Woods Lake to be just the ticket for a novice angler.
Most of Peter's fish were caught on the shore with a wet fly but some came
up to a dry stone fly imitation.

Greg Peacock from "The Priory Country Lodge" at Bothwell
Enjoyed a day at Woods Lake and tried his hand at fly fishing for the first time.

Alan Pickering came down for four days and enjoyed the early season shore fishing at Woods Lake.
Most fish were taken from the shore during some of the early season "stone fly" hatches.

November was sensational for shore fly fishing at Woods. Colin Miles back to fish
with me again for three days was lucky enough to be there during some fantastic
"stone fly" hatches with the flies falling like snow drops all around us.
With trout feeding on the surface, Colin was able to hook and release
many fish. We both lost count of the numbers but what a way to fish.

Colin, logged in but landed the fish.        Another one on the shoresShallow water fly fishing

The" Ada Gil" stopped for repairs in Hobart before going South to meet the anti whaling ship "Steve Irwin"
I took this photo after I declared that we would never see the boat again as I decided it was too small to survive the trip.
I was right in a way as the Adi Gil was later sunk by one of the Japanese whaler ships.
